One of the biggest issues faced by the environmental health community (and scientific community in general) is communicating what we do and why it matters to people who are not scientists. Proper science communication is a necessary step towards bridging the gap between scientists and community members, yet it is something that is not always emphasized within the scientific community. As a result, sometimes misinformation and misunderstanding about environmental issues have contributed to problems which negatively effect all people - not just researchers. The ToxSquad was developed in an effort to bridge that gap between scientists and community members and inspire interest in the fields of environmental health and toxicology.
